Taunting the Commandant
Ryan -- or should I say Emperor Zed -- takes the opportunity to taunt Walt, and relish every moment of it. And, in the process, not only is his dialogue ripping off lovingly borrowing from The Wrath of Khan, a little bit of an Emperor Palpatine-style taunt is thrown in for good measure. And, in a nice genre-savvy move, Ryan's prepared for the situation by blocking the move that allowed the Enterprise to escape its initial counter with Khan in Star Trek II.
Ryan's comment on Walter being a selfish person is a pretty appropriate jab at this point. After all, Walt had planned his own coup d’état, but Ryan went and hijacked Walt's plan, adding his own twists and turns. And now, it looks like the crew of the Titan is screwed.
Can anything save the Commandant now?
